NIFT Application Form 2018

  • The facility for NIFT application form 2018 will be available online mode on 1st week, November 2017.
  • Application forms can be access via online mode only. No Hardcopy-copy (offline) application form will be facilitate for NIFT 2018.
  • Applicants filling the NIFT application form 2018 after last date includes with late fee of 5000/- Rs. in addition to the NIFT online application form.
  • After filling the form successfully, applicants may take the print of filled-in online application for other uses.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed/appearing 10+12th examination from state or central board like CISCE, CBSE, etc.
  • GCE (General Certificate Education) Examination (Cambridge/Sri-Lanka/London) at the superior (A) level/IB (International Baccalaureate).
  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination equivalent as 10+2 from India or Foreign Universities recognized by AIU.
  • Completed/appearing for Senior Secondary School Exam which is conducted by National Open School with at least 5 subjects.
  • Three years diploma holder from a recognized collage/institution.
B.F.Tech ·         Clear in 10+2 exam from state/central board with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physic subject.

·         Applicants possessing diploma of Three years in any stream of engineering are also able to apply.

Age Criteria For Under Graduates Courses:

  • Age Limit:Last age to be considered is 23 years as on 1 October, 2017.
  • For ST/SC/PHP: Last age considered by Authorities is 28 years as above.

For PG Courses:

  • Age Limit: No Age limit for PG courses.

NIFT 2018 Exam Pattern

The NIFT Exam Pattern consists of CAT, GAT and PI/GD. The information about these exams are argued below.

GAT (General Ability Test) is the written exam for all the five courses which is provided by NIFT. For M.Des and B.Des programme, GAT is the 1st exam for choices in NIFT. After General Ability Test, B.Des and M.Des students are needed to qualify the Creative Ability Test (CAT). Applicants who will succeed both above the written exams will be able/suitable/capable for Situation Exams (in occasion of B.Des) and PI/GD (in occasion of M.Des).

For B.F.Tech, General Ability Test is the only selection exam. MFM and M.F.Tech applicants are needed to contribute in PI/GD after succeeding in the GAT.

  • Exam Mode: For all Programmes, GAT will be direct only in offline mode (Pen-paper Based Test).
  • Exam duration: 2 hours duration will be allow for GAT written test (for M.Des and B.Des) and 3 hours (for MFM, B.F.Tech and M.F.Tech).
  • Number of Questions: Total 100 questions will be found in General Ability Test for B.Des and 120 questions will be found in M.Des question paper.
  • Language: English only for all exam.
  • Papers: For M.Des and B.Des, 2 written exams will be directed i.e. General Ability Test and Creative Ability Test whereas for MFM, B.F.Tech and M.F.Tech only General Ability Test will be directed.
  • Negative Marking: No negative marking.

NIFT 2018 Syllabus

NIFT syllabus for GAT consist of Quantitative Ability, English Comprehension, Communication Ability, Analytical Ability, GK and Current Affairs for B.Des/M.Des courses. The syllabus of GAT for MFM, B.F.Tech and M.F.Tech will includes of Quantitative Ability, Analytical and Logical Ability, Commu. Ability and English Comprehension, GK and Current Affairs or Case Study.

Creative Ability Test for B.Des and M.Des exams the creative and innovative ability of the applicants in designing while Situation (Conditions) exam for B.Des applicants will assess applicant’s skills for material managing and innovative ability.
